How to teach your dog to lay down

Step 1: Call your dog over using your voice, hand motions, or a treat.

Great dog treats are leftover biscuits, hot dogs, or bits of dog food in your palm, but recommended

treats come in bags at your local grocery store.

 Step 2: Get your dog to sit by using the steps in the "Sit" page on my blog.

Step 3: Using a treat,hold it towards the ground in front of your dog while he is sitting.

If well trained, he will crawl down and get it. Now say "Lay Down"

Step 4: Now he is laying down. Give him a treat, pet him, and say good boy!
Praise will help your dog learn much quicker. Make sure and do it every few days for about 2 weeks, and he will soon learn it. CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is a bit of a hard trick for your dog to learn,
so if you have mastered it, you are a master. :)
